Suntree AC Surge Protector (SPD) 40kA 4 Pole Three Phase Key Features
- Pluggable Modular Design: Individual phase or neutral modules can be hot-swapped and replaced seamlessly without removing the entire base or disconnecting the main power.
- Visual Status Windows: Features clear fault-indicator viewports on each module. Green indicates normal working condition, while Red signals that the surge capacity is exhausted and the module must be replaced.
- Thermal Safety Disconnection: Outfitted with an internal thermal trip mechanism that safely isolates the SPD module from the live circuit if it overheats or breaks down under extreme surge conditions.
- Housing Material: Durable, high-grade, V0 flame-retardant thermoplastic designed to prevent fire propagation.
Suntree AC Surge Protector (SPD) 40kA 4 Pole Three Phase Wiring & Installation Overview
- Parallel Connection: The SPD must be wired in parallel to your main incoming supply lines (after a dedicated backup miniature circuit breaker or fuse disconnect).
- Terminal Connections:
- Connect phase lines to the L1, L2, and L3 terminals.
- Connect the neutral line to the N terminal.
- Connect the grounding terminal marked PE directly to your distribution board’s main earth bar.
- Cable Length Rule: Keep all connecting leads (L1, L2, L3, N, PE) as short and straight as possible (under 50 cm total ) to minimize inductive voltage drops during a fast-acting surge event.
